Day 1: Arrive Mumbai

Upon your arrival in Mumbai, you will be greeted by a representative who will assist you with your transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

 

Day 2: Mumbai

After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Mumbai. Begin with a visit to the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses ancient rock-cut temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later, visit the Gateway of India, an iconic monument overlooking the Arabian Sea. From there, visit the Prince of Wales Museum, which houses a vast collection of art and artifacts from India and beyond. Continue your tour with a drive past the colonial buildings of South Mumbai, including the Victoria Terminus railway station, the Bombay High Court, and the Flora Fountain. Overnight stay in Mumbai.

 

Day 3: Mumbai - Cochin (flight)

After breakfast, start your day with a visit to Dharavi Slum, which is one of the largest slums in Asia. Your guide will take you through the narrow alleys and busy streets of the slum, and you will witness the daily life of its inhabitants. You will get a chance to interact with the locals and learn about their livelihoods, which include leather tanning, pottery, and recycling. After the Dharavi visit, transferred to the airport for your flight to Cochin. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

 

Day 4: Cochin - Alleppey (60kms)

After breakfast, drive to Alleppey, also known as the "Venice of the East," a charming town located on the backwaters of Kerala. Upon arrival, you will check into your houseboat and enjoy a delicious lunch on board. The houseboat cruise will take you through the scenic backwaters of Kerala, giving you the opportunity to witness the unique lifestyle and culture of the local people who live in the area. The backwaters are a network of interconnected canals, lagoons, and lakes that stretch along the coast of Kerala and are a major source of livelihood for the people who live there. During your cruise, you can relax and take in the beautiful scenery, and observe the day-to-day life of the people who live in the backwaters. You will pass through small villages, see fishermen at work, and watch as locals go about their daily routines.
Later in the day, you will enjoy a delicious dinner on board the houseboat before retiring for the night. The gentle sway of the boat and the peaceful surroundings will make for a truly unforgettable experience.

 

Day 5: Alleppey - Cochin (60kms)/ Delhi (flight)

After breakfast, drive back to Cochin for a city tour. Visit the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and the Chinese Fishing Nets, an iconic landmark of Cochin's backwaters. Continue your tour with a visit to the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, which houses a rich collection of murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Later in the evening, board a flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

 

Day 6: Delhi

After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of Old and New Delhi. Begin with a visit to the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the residence of the Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years. From there, visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Next, take a rickshaw ride through the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk and visit the Khari Baoli spice market, one of the largest spice markets in Asia. In the afternoon, visit Humayun's Tomb, another UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal. Later, visit the Lotus Temple, a Bahá'í House of Worship known for its stunning architecture. End your tour with a visit to Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world. Overnight stay in Delhi.

 

Day 7: Delhi - Agra (204kms)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and then proceed for sightseeing. You will first visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. You will also visit the Agra Fort, a massive structure with walls that stretch for over two kilometers, which was the seat of Mughal Empire for several generations. Finally, you will visit the Baby Taj, a small and exquisite tomb sometimes called the "Jewel Box". In the evening, you can explore the local markets of Agra, famous for handicrafts and leather goods. Overnight stay in Agra.

 

Day 8: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Abhaneri - Jaipur (245kms)

After breakfast, you will leave Agra and drive to Jaipur. On the way, you will visit the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a fine example of Mughal architecture. Explore the stunning monuments that have been preserved in the city, including the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and the Diwan-i-Khas. Afterwards, you will head to the village of Abhaneri to visit the Chand Baori stepwell, which is considered to be one of the largest and deepest stepwells in India. You will marvel at the intricate carvings and architecture of the stepwell and learn about its significance in water management during ancient times.
As you arrive in Jaipur, you can relax and unwind at your hotel. You can take the evening to explore the vibrant city on your own or indulge in some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants in the city.

 

Day 9: Jaipur

Today you will embark on a full day city tour of Jaipur. After breakfast, you will start with a visit to the Amber Fort, a magnificent fortress-palace on the outskirts of the city. You will then visit the City Palace, the royal residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur, which houses a museum with an impressive collection of art and artifacts. You will also see the famous astronomical observatory Jantar Mantar and the Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of the Winds. In the evening, you will have the option to explore the colorful bazaars of Jaipur for shopping and visit the Birla Temple, a beautiful white marble temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.

 

Day 10: Jaipur - Delhi (268kms)

After breakfast, you will drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. If time permits, you may have the option to explore some additional sights in Delhi before your departure. This will mark the end of your private tour.
