Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu + Half Day Sightseeing

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, you will have a half-day sightseeing tour of the city, which will include visits to the famous Swayambhunath Stupa (also known as Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner where you will get a chance to meet your tour guide and fellow travelers.

 

Day 2: Kathmandu - Bhaktapur - Dhulikhel

After breakfast, you will depart for Bhaktapur, an ancient city located about 13 kilometers from Kathmandu. Bhaktapur is also known as the 'City of Devotees' and is famous for its traditional Newari architecture and intricate wood carvings. Here, you will visit the famous Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nyatapola Temple, and Dattatreya Temple. After lunch, you will drive to Dhulikhel, a scenic town located in the eastern part of the Kathmandu Valley. Upon arrival, you can enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Mt. Everest.

 

Day 3: Morning Visit Namo Buddha Stupa. Drive to Kathmandu

Early in the morning, you will drive to Namo Buddha Stupa, one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. It is believed that Prince Mahasattva sacrificed himself to feed a starving tigress and her cubs at this site in a previous life. The stupa is located atop a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. After the visit, you will drive back to Kathmandu.

 

Day 4: Kathmandu - Lumbini (Flight)

After breakfast, you will take a flight to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have some time to rest. In the afternoon, you will visit the Maya Devi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, and the Sacred Pond. You can also explore the surrounding monasteries and meditation centers.

 

Day 5: Lumbini

Today will be a full day of sightseeing in Lumbini. You will visit the various monasteries, temples, and shrines located within the Lumbini Development Zone. Some of the highlights include the Mahabodhi Temple, World Peace Pagoda, and the International Buddhist Research and Meditation Center. You will also have the opportunity to participate in meditation and prayer sessions.

 

Day 6: Lumbini - Kathmandu (Flight)

After breakfast, you will take a flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have some free time to explore the city on your own.

 

Day 7: Kathmandu – Lalitpur - Pharping – Kathmandu

Today, you will visit some of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Kathmandu. Your first stop will be the famous Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can participate in prayer and meditation at this sacred site. Next, you will visit the Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur, which is known for its intricate Newari architecture and traditional crafts. Here, you can visit the ancient Krishna Mandir, Patan Museum, and other historical landmarks.

After lunch, you will drive to Pharping, a small village located about 19 kilometers south of Kathmandu. Here, you will visit the Yanglesho Cave, a sacred site where Guru Rinpoche meditated and attained enlightenment. You can also visit the Guru Rinpoche's Meditation Cave, where he is believed to have performed miracles, and the Asura Cave, which is associated with the story of the great Mahasiddha Padmasambhava. In Pharping, you can also visit several monasteries and interact with the local Buddhist community.

After a fulfilling day of pilgrimage, you will drive back to Kathmandu in the late afternoon.

 

Day 8: Kathmandu - Departure

After breakfast, you will have some free time for last-minute shopping or personal exploration in Kathmandu. Later, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your private Buddhist pilgrimage tour in Nepal.
