Discovering Mauritius: North, South & Southwest is an exciting tour that takes you on a journey to explore the beautiful island of Mauritius. Day 1: Arrival in Mauritius

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore the surrounding areas. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 2: North Island Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, get ready for the North Island Tour. First, visit the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, where you can witness giant water lilies and 85 varieties of palm trees from around the world. Next, head to the L’Aventure du Sucre Museum to discover the history of Mauritius, sugar, and the slave trade. You can also sample various types of sugar and local rums. Then, visit the Château de Labourdonnais, a beautifully restored colonial mansion built in 1859. Explore its enchanting tropical garden and enjoy a free rum tasting at the bar. Finally, head to Port Louis to visit the Caudan Waterfront, Blue Penny Museum, Aapravasi Ghat (UNESCO heritage site), and more.

 

Day 3: South Island Tour

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then proceed to the South Island Tour. Start your tour with a visit to the Bois Cheri Tea Plantation, where you can learn about the tea plantation, tea factory, and museum and try a variety of teas. Next, visit La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes, where you can discover a variety of flora and fauna, including palm and banana trees, giant bamboos, 2,000 Nile Crocodiles, and 1,000 giant tortoises. The site also boasts one of the largest insectariums in the world. Then, witness the powerful waves crashing on the cliffs at Gris Gris and visit La Roche Qui Pleure, a natural rock formation that resembles a person crying when the waves hit it.

 

Day 4: Southwest Tour

After breakfast, proceed to the Southwest Tour. You have the option of a Wild Dolphin Swim, where you can swim with wild dolphins in their natural environment for 2.5 hours on the open sea, followed by a visit to The Aquarium, a popular snorkeling and diving site with beautiful coral and tropical fish. Next, visit Trou aux Cerfs Volcano and admire 360-degree views from the top of the volcano while taking a stroll around the crater. On clear days, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the island. Then, head to Grand Bassin Sacred Lake to discover the Hindu culture by visiting the temples around the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings while watching for monkeys and wildlife. Finally, visit Black River Gorges National Park, which covers an area of 6754 hectares and is home to numerous endemic flora and fauna, providing visitors with beautiful hikes of varying levels of difficulty. End your tour with a visit to Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth, where you can view the geological wonders of the seven colored dunes and the Chamarel Falls, the most famous waterfall in Mauritius.

 

Day 5: Departure from Mauritius

After breakfast, check out of the hotel (standard check-out time is 1100hrs) and transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
