From the beaches of Negombo and Unawatuna to the cultural sites of Dambulla and Kandy, and the hill stations of Nuwara Eliya and Bandarawela, this tour offers a diverse range of experiences. You'll also get the opportunity to trek in Horton Plains National Park, visit a spice garden, explore local markets, and learn about Sri Lanka's tea culture. Day 1: Arrive Colombo

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Negombo. You can relax and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure on the beach or at the hotel. Overnight in Negombo.

 

Day 2: Negombo - Dambulla (130kms)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive towards Dambulla, which is located in the central province of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel and relax for a while. Later in the afternoon, we will visit the famous Dambulla Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and admire the beautiful ancient Buddhist rock temples. Overnight in Dambulla.

 

Day 3: Dambulla

After breakfast at the hotel, we will set out to explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, we will visit the ancient ruins of the city, including the Royal Palace, the Gal Vihara (Stone Temple), and the Lotus Pond. We will then proceed to visit the Sigiriya Fortress, another UNESCO World Heritage site, located on a massive rock plateau. We will climb up to the top of the fortress and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Overnight in Dambulla.

 

Day 4: Dambulla - Kandy (75kms)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive towards Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. On the way, we will visit a spice garden and learn about the different spices grown in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival in Kandy, check-in to the hotel and relax for a while. Later in the evening, we will visit the famous Temple of the Tooth, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. We will also take in a cultural show showcasing traditional Sri Lankan dance and music. Overnight in Kandy.

 

Day 5: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya (75kms)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a scenic train ride and tuk-tuk ride to the picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya, also known as "Little England". On the way, we will stop at a tea plantation and learn about the process of tea making. Upon arrival, we will explore the town and its surroundings, including the nearby hills, on foot. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

 

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains National Park - Bandarawela

After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a trekking adventure in the Horton Plains National Park. We will walk along the trails and witness the stunning natural beauty of the area, including the World's End viewpoint. Later, we will drive towards Bandarawela and check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Bandarawela.

 

Day 7: Bandarawela

After breakfast at the hotel, we will set out on a hike through the cool hills cloaked in tea bushes. We will also have the option of taking a cooking class or visiting the local market during free time. In the evening, we will return to the hotel and relax. Distance: no significant distance. Overnight in Bandarawela.

 

Day 8: Bandarawela - Unawatuna (200kms)

After breakfast at the hotel in Bandarawela, you will drive towards the southern coast to Unawatuna. This scenic journey will take you through the lush green hills, winding roads, and charming villages. Upon arrival at Unawatuna, you will check in at your hotel and finish the day's journey ocean-side. You can spend the evening relaxing on the beach or exploring the local area. Overnight at hotel in Unawatuna.

 

Day 9: Unawatuna

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have a free day to spend at your leisure. Unawatuna is a beautiful beach town with a laid-back vibe. You can choose to spend the day relaxing on the beach, enjoying water sports, or exploring the local area. You can also take a whale or dolphin watching tour, or take a day trip to the colonial port town of Galle to explore its historic fort and charming streets. Overnight at hotel in Unawatuna.

 

Day 10: Unawatuna - Colombo (125kms)

After breakfast at the hotel in Unawatuna, you will drive to the capital city of Colombo. Upon arrival, you will enjoy an orientation walk of the fort area and Pettah Bazaar. The fort area is a historic part of the city with a rich colonial heritage, and Pettah Bazaar is a bustling market where you can find everything from spices to textiles. Overnight at hotel in Colombo.

 

Day 11: Colombo - Departure

After breakfast at the hotel in Colombo, you will be transferred to the airport as per your flight schedule to board your onward destination.
