Day 1: Arrival in Paro - Half Day Sightseeing

Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you'll be warmly greeted by our guide who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. After settling in, begin your exploration with a visit to the National Museum of Bhutan. Housed in the ancient watchtower of Paro Dzong, the museum boasts an impressive collection of traditional Bhutanese art, relics, and historical artifacts that offer insights into the country's rich cultural heritage. Next, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, a magnificent fortress-monastery renowned for its intricate architecture and panoramic views overlooking the Paro valley. Day 2: Paro to Punakha (115 km)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, situated at a lower altitude. Enroute, make a stop at Dochula Pass, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, where you'll be greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range and the iconic 108 memorial chortens. Continue your journey to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the "Temple of Fertility," dedicated to Drukpa Kunley, the "Divine Madman." Learn about the temple's unique history and traditions before proceeding to Punakha. In the evening, visit Punakha Dzong, one of the most majestic fortresses in Bhutan, situated at the confluence of the Mo Chu and Pho Chu rivers. Day 3: Punakha to Thimphu (75 km)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's vibrant capital city. Enroute, visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan, which now serves as a language school where scholars study Dzongkha, the national language of Bhutan. Upon reaching Thimphu, check in to your hotel and take some time to rest. In the afternoon, explore the city's cultural landmarks, starting with the National Memorial Chorten, a Tibetan-style stupa honoring Bhutan's third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Day 4: Exploring Thimphu

Day 5: Paro (Taktsang Hike)

After an early breakfast, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime hiking adventure to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest. The trail winds through pine forests, offering stunning views of the Paro valley and surrounding mountains. The hike takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your pace and fitness level. Upon reaching the monastery, perched on a cliff at 900 meters above the valley floor, take some time to explore its sacred temples, shrines, and meditation caves where Guru Rinpoche, the patron saint of Bhutan, is said to have meditated in the 8th century. Soak in the spiritual atmosphere, breathtaking scenery, and enjoy a well-deserved rest before beginning your descent back to Paro. Overnight in Paro.

 

Day 6: Paro - Departure

After breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to the enchanting kingdom of Bhutan. Your guide will assist you with the check-out process at the hotel and ensure a smooth transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
