Day 1: Arrive Kolkata

Upon arrival in Kolkata, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, take some time to relax and adjust to your new surroundings.

 

Day 2: Kolkata

After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Kolkata, the cultural capital of India. Start with a visit to the Victoria Memorial, a magnificent white marble structure that is a symbol of British India. Explore St. Paul's Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Kolkata, and marvel at the stunning Gothic architecture. Next, visit the Indian Museum, the oldest and largest museum in India, and learn about the country's rich history and cultural heritage. Take a walk through the bustling streets of College Street, famous for its bookstores and street food. End your day with a visit to the iconic Howrah Bridge, one of the busiest bridges in the world.

 

Day 3: Kolkata - Bhubaneswar (Flight)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bhubaneswar. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the city's rich history and culture with a visit to some of its famous temples, including Lingaraj Temple, Mukteswara Temple, and Rajarani Temple. These ancient temples are known for their stunning architecture and intricate carvings.

 

Day 4: Bhubaneswar - Excursion to Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri, Udaigiri & Khandgiri (100kms/ 2hrs approx one way)

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri, Udaigiri, and Khandgiri. Lalitgiri is an ancient Buddhist monastery and one of the earliest Buddhist establishments in the world. Ratnagiri is known for its impressive ruins of a Buddhist monastery and for housing several Buddhist sculptures. Udaigiri and Khandgiri are ancient Jain rock-cut cave temples that date back to the 2nd century BC. These caves are famous for their stunning carvings and sculptures.

 

Day 5: Bhubaneswar - Puri (65kms/ 1.3hrs approx)

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and drive to Puri, a popular seaside town on the Bay of Bengal. Enroute visit Dhauli, where Emperor Ashoka is said to have renounced violence and embraced Buddhism. Also visit the Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most stunning examples of ancient Indian architecture. Upon arrival in Puri, check-in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the stunning beaches and exploring the town's colorful streets.

 

Day 6: Puri – Chilika Lake (55kms/ 1hrs approx one way)

After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Chilika Lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia and a popular destination for bird watching. Enjoy a boat ride on the lake and spot some of the many species of migratory birds that visit the lake, including the flamingos. Afterward, return to Puri for an evening at leisure.

 

Day 7: Puri - Bhubaneswar flight to Kolkata / Kolkata – Sunderban National Park (130km/ 3hrs approx)

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and drive to Bhubaneswar for your flight back to Kolkata. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and driven to Sunderban National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich biodiversity and stunning mangrove forests. Enjoy the scenic drive through the countryside, passing through lush green fields and small villages.

 

Day 8: Sunderban National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day tour of the Sunderban National Park, which is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger and various other endangered species. During the boat safari, you will have the chance to spot some of these animals, such as saltwater crocodiles, chital deer, wild boar, and more. The national park is also known for its rich flora, including the Sundari trees that give the park its name. In the afternoon, visit a local village to interact with the locals and learn about their way of life.

 

Day 9: Sunderban NP – Kolkata (130km/ 3hrs approx.)

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive back to Kolkata. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport or your hotel for your onward journey. If time permits, you may wish to do some last-minute shopping or explore some of the city's famous street food before departure.
